The Evan Iron
We look forward to welcoming you. Here’s a little guidance to help your visit feel easy, relaxed and well planned.
You’ll find us at 55 Grant Avenue, between Geary and O’Farrell Streets. Please check in at our front desk on level 4 unless your stylist has arranged otherwise.
Public transit or rideshare is a great way to reach us. Powell Street BART and the Market Street and Union Square MUNI lines are nearby. If you’re driving, Union Square, Ellis–O’Farrell, and Sutter–Stockton garages are convenient options. We don’t currently offer parking validation or private parking.
Events and street closures can affect your journey. Check SFMTA travel updates or 511.org before you travel.
For most services, simply shampoo within 48 hours of your appointment and arrive with dry hair. Please follow any different instructions from your stylist, especially for dry cuts or formal styling.
Keratin and thermal straightening appointments include their own preparation when those treatments begin your visit, so no extra prep is needed. If you’re unsure, call or email us — we’re happy to help.
To reserve time with your stylist, we keep a card on file for appointments covered by a cancellation fee.
We understand that plans can change. To cancel or reschedule, please contact us by 6 p.m. the evening before your appointment. Email or text is welcome; we’re sometimes able to respond outside salon hours.
After that deadline, a 50% cancellation fee applies. For complimentary consultations, bang trims, and clean-ups, the rebooking fee is $25.
Appointments with deposits typically need 48 hours’ notice. Please check your booking confirmation for the policy specific to your reservation.
If you’re delayed, please let us know as soon as you can. We’ll do our best to accommodate you, although the day’s schedule may mean we need to find another time. If a late arrival requires rescheduling, a 50% late fee applies before rebooking.
For services canceled or removed on the day of your visit, a 50% cancellation fee is due before rebooking or beginning the remaining services. Thank you for helping us respect the time reserved for every guest.
Please take the time you need to rest and let us help you reschedule. There is no cancellation fee for illness.
To help everyone feel comfortable in the salon, we’ll also ask you to reschedule if you arrive with visible signs of illness, such as coughing, sneezing, or a runny nose.
For appointments booked more than seven days ahead, we send an email one week before and a text the day before. For appointments booked less than seven days ahead, we send a text the day before.
If a reminder doesn’t arrive, please contact us so we can confirm your appointment and notification preferences. Replies to automated reminder emails aren’t received — please use the contact details in the reminder when you need to reach us or change your booking.
We accept major cards, cash, and tap-to-pay. For card payments, the name on the card must match the identification of the person presenting it.
For the most relaxing visit, we encourage you to leave pets at home. We understand this can be harder during longer appointments. If a pet creates a health or safety concern, disrupts other guests, or makes it difficult for your stylist to work, we’ll need to pause your service and arrange another time. This pet policy does not apply to ADA-qualified service animals.
You’re welcome to use our complimentary Wi-Fi and catch up on quiet work, as long as your stylist can comfortably continue your service. For video meetings, please use wireless earbuds.
If you’ll need to speak during a call or meeting, please plan your appointment for another time so everyone can enjoy a peaceful visit. We don’t have private spaces for calls.
